Dromquinna Manor | Catherine & David

Usually if the mother of a groom or indeed the future mother-in-law of a bride was to get in touch alarm bells would go off! But I have to say when I meet David's mother there was no need for any panic. Mary quickly explained that Catherine and David were living in India and had already got married there (would  love to have photographed that) and were planning a celebration in Kenmare.

So preparations in place after a very enjoyable recce down to Dromquinna we were ready. We started the proceedings with the family pictures and then before the guests arrived myself and the guys went for a ramble around the grounds. I have to say I have dealt with low-light, wet and cold shooting conditions before but nothing had prepared us for the wild Atlantic wind!!! Fair play to both Catherine and David who just got stuck in. No matter what the conditions are like in Kenmare it is still one of the most incredible back drops in Ireland.

Having fixed wind blown hair and clothes we arrived back to the reception now in full swing. There was a great Cork blues band, One Horse Pony, playing some very cool bluegrass styled tunes. The whole day was looked over by John Brennan and if you have seen him on television you just know everything went smoothly. After the meal there was a Céilí to get people up and dancing which I have to say is great to see coming back into fashion.
